A state lawmaker proposed slight changes to an Idaho law approved last year that limited highway districts’ abilities to make bicycle or pedestrian improvements.
Rep. Brooke Green, D-Boise, introduced a bill Tuesday that would specify that the limitations on those projects wouldn’t apply if the highway district received a federal or other grant specifically for standalone bike and pedestrian infrastructure. The bill would also narrow the criminal penalties for violating the law so they only apply to the elected officials, rather than “any person” who violated it…
