STAR, Idaho (CBS2) — A Star deputy was involved in a foot pursuit and physical altercation with a suspect following a routine traffic stop Thursday morning.
According to the Ada County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred when a deputy conducting a routine traffic stop shortly before 9:00 a.m. Thursday stopped 29-year-old Michael Bowman on West State Street in Star. Bowman allegedly became verbally confrontational with the deputy.
The deputy then began attempting to remove Bowman from the vehicle, when he physically resisted. He then fled on foot, according to ACSO, followed closely by the deputy, who eventually caught up with him, and another physical altercation began.
