NAMPA, Idaho – The Idaho State Police (ISP) recently shared a video showing a close call on Interstate 84, where Trooper Daniel narrowly avoided being hit by a car while clearing metal debris from the shoulder.
The incident occurred when a car entered the median shoulder, forcing the trooper to jump the center barrier to avoid being struck. ISP officials shared the footage to warn against the dangers of driving on the shoulder.
“This was a close call that never should have happened,” an ISP spokesperson said. “The shoulder is not a travel lane. It is for emergency vehicles and emergency situations.”…
