Young driver dies after hitting power pole in Meridian. Detectives seek witnesses

A Meridian vehicle crash killed one person Thursday after the driver lost control. Law enforcement is seeking witnesses to help in its investigation.

An 18-year-old man was driving a 2001 black Jaguar sedan north on South Meridian Road when he lost control of his vehicle at about 3:23 a.m. Thursday, according to an Ada County Sheriff’s Office news release.

As he approached East Columbia Road, the driver “lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway” before rolling and striking a power pole, the sheriff’s office said…
