NWS: Cold front brings snow and gusty winds tonight through Tuesday morning to Idaho

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — The National Weather Service says a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect tonight into Tuesday morning for higher elevations of southwest Idaho and far southeast Oregon.

A cold front is expected to move through tonight into Tuesday morning, lowering snow levels to near valley floors. In Boise/West Central Mountains, two to six inches of snow are expected in the valleys, with six to 12 inches above 6,000 feet. In the SW Highlands, Owyhee Mountains and southern Malheur County, one to three inches are expected with gusts at 35 mph.

Elsewhere, there should generally be less than one inch of snow accumulation. Travel may be difficult due to slick roadways and reduced visibility. Brief snow and gusts of 30-50 mph are possible along the front in the Magic Valley early Tuesday morning…
