SNAP recipients adjust as candy and soda purchases no longer allowed

BOISE, Idaho — NAMPA, Idaho – Thousands of families across Idaho are adjusting to new changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) that took effect on Feb. 15.

Under the updated rules, SNAP benefits can no longer be used to purchase items such as candy and soda.
