Meridian ambulance attack suspect still at large; Paramedics say ‘It could have been so much worse’

MERIDIAN — Paramedics in Canyon County say they were shocked to learn someone stole their ambulance outside the emergency department at St. Luke’s Meridian Medical Center early Thursday and crashed it into a nearby office building.

The building, located near the hospital in Meridian, has since been boarded up. Broken glass remained scattered outside a day after the crash.

Canyon County Paramedic Chief Michael Stowell said the crew had just dropped off a patient late Wednesday night and was inside the hospital for only a few minutes when they walked out to find the ambulance gone…
