While the Treasure Valley’s public transportation system has been the victim of funding cuts from cities’ budgets in the past, it is hoping to gain momentum in funds for the next fiscal year and is already getting ahead of the game.
Leaders from the two largest cities in Canyon County had a bright and early start to their Thursday morning at Nampa City Hall. Caldwell and Nampa city councils met with Valley Regional Transit (VRT) at a collaborative joint workshop session at 7 a.m. to discuss the future of public transportation in the county, focusing on affordability, growth and long-term sustainability.
