34-year-old Boise man sentenced to 15 years in prison for enticing a minor

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — A 34-year-old Boise man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for attempting to entice a 14-year-old girl.

Meade Justin Chandler was communicating with someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl on a dating app called Taimi. Chandler began sending explicit photos of himself and requesting them in return, according to prosecutors. He then arranged to meet with the girl at Eagle Skate Park for sex, but when he arrived, he found detectives waiting for him instead. Ada County Sheriff’s detectives had been posing as the teenage girl all along.

Chandler was already on parole from a prior sexual misconduct offense. Judge Medema said that while punishment is always the consideration at sentencing, the overriding concern in this case is community safety. Given that prior supervision had failed to deter Chandler from further reoffending, a consecutive 15-year sentence was necessary to protect the public…
