Three Garden City police officers were treated for minor injuries after apprehending an inmate who was out on work release and crashed into a patrol vehicle before leading police on a foot pursuit.
At 1:30 p.m. Monday on the 500 block of East 45th Street, officers were assisting Idaho Department Correction Probation and Parole in attempting to locate a person on felony probation when a different man, 32-year-old Jordan Pickett, who was thought to be the person of interest, but was unrelated to the officers’ search, “was observed concealing drug contraband which he had in plain view” inside a vehicle, Garden City police stated in a news release.
“Probation and Parole Officers relayed that Pickett was currently an inmate with the Idaho Department of Correction and part of a work release program,” the release states, after which time “Pickett refused to roll down the window of his vehicle and refused officer commands to exit the vehicle, or to keep his hands in view.”…
