Wicked Weekend Weather Could Slam Boise, Twin Falls, and Burley With Dangerous Wind

If you have a basketball hoop still up, patio furniture outside, or a trampoline that is not tied down, now is the time to handle it.

A High Wind Watch remains in effect for parts of southern and southwest Idaho from Saturday afternoon through Saturday evening, including areas around Boise, Twin Falls, and Burley. The National Weather Service says parts of the region could see northwest winds of 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph, which could make travel difficult and lead to downed trees, power lines, and possible outages.

Boise Is Going to Get Pushed Around Too

I’ve live in both Treasure and Magic Valley, and Twin Falls usually gets most of the attention when a windy weekend is coming. That said, Boise will not be getting a free pass on this one.

The current Boise forecast shows a high near 56 on Saturday, with rain possible earlier in the day before winds ramp up. Forecasters say gusts in Boise could reach 39 mph Saturday, with Saturday night gusts up to 40 mph.

Magic Valley Will Likely Take a Harder Hit

It looks like it’ll probably rain in Twin Falls Saturday before noon, with a high near 57, and gusts that could reach 50 mph
