Spring is almost here, and the City of Boise is planning upgrades to the Rose Garden in Julia Davis Park. The city said the upgrades are meant to improve accessibility, modernize the layout of the garden, and support the long-term health of the garden’s roses that we all know and love.
The project is in partnership between the city, the Davis family, and the Idaho Rose Society. The garden has been a centerpiece of the park for generations, and city officials said this upgrade work is designed to preserve that legacy while making the garden space easier to maintain and enjoy.
Planned improvements include adding a secondary walkway around the perimeter of the garden, redesigning rose beds into a linear layout for easier maintenance, and creating a children’s rose area with pollinator plantings…
