Bills to serve as interim Nampa mayor as city seeks replacement after Hogaboam’s death

Erin Banks Rusby writes: After the sudden passing of Nampa Mayor Rick Hogaboam on Wednesday, the City of Nampa has a new interim mayor in place and a plan to select a new mayor soon.

The Nampa City Council appointed David Bills, who was serving as the council’s president, to the position of mayor during an emergency meeting on Thursday. Under the decision, Bills will serve as mayor for 90 days, or until the city council appoints a new mayor, whichever comes first, according to the text of the resolution approved by the council at the meeting.
