NAMPA, Idaho (CBS2) — The Idaho Hispanic Foundation is a pillar of influence and culture in Nampa, something Nampa Mayor Rick Hogaboam recognized. The foundation’s Executive Director, Mari Ramos, recalled that Hogaboam was involved with the foundation before he was elected mayor of Nampa.
“This building was taken over by the city, it was done because there was a lot of different issues where the building was not being used very much,” Ramos said. “He was chief of staff, and he was the one in charge of actually bringing us in and moving this center over to the next phase. And his and Mayor Kling, at the time, their focus was always to keep this with the Hispanic community and to be very respectful and cognizant of what this building was built for.”
