Caldwell has a new market and restaurant offering Mexican grocery staples and prepared dishes.
Rivera’s Market opened at 716 Blaine St. in Caldwell earlier this year, according to Perla Ayvar, one of the market’s owners. Ayvar said she and her parents felt inspired to start the business, feeling that they had something to offer to Caldwell’s market and food scene.
“We’re really passionate about our culture, and we’re really big on being authentic,” Ayvar said. “There are a lot of markets in the area, but I felt like it was still lacking a little bit. We felt like we could be kind of unique in that aspect, but still bring very authentic Mexican food, carnicería, all of that,” she said.
