Boise State weighs renaming West Cesar Chavez Lane

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — In a letter to faculty, staff and students, Boise State University is considering renaming West Cesar Chavez Lane, the roadway along the north side of campus between the university and the Boise River Greenbelt.

According to the letter, recent reporting by The New York Times raised serious allegations concerning Cesar Chavez, the labor rights organizer who co-founded what is now the United Farm Workers labor union. In response, university leadership will seek input from the campus community regarding a potential name change for this campus road.
