State police make reckless driving arrest, remind motorcyclists to use caution

Idaho State Police (ISP) cited a motorcyclist for reckless driving after a high-speed incident on Interstate 84, underscoring ongoing concerns about unsafe motorcycle operation as spring traffic increases on Idaho roads.

On Monday, March 23, shortly before 4 p.m., an ISP Motors trooper observed a brown 2018 BMW R1200 motorcycle traveling eastbound on I-84 at high speed in heavy traffic near milepost 29 in Canyon County. The rider weaved between slower-moving vehicles and changed lanes without signaling. Radar confirmed the motorcycle was traveling 115 mph, prompting a traffic stop. The 27-year-old rider admitted to speeding. He was arrested and booked for reckless driving, while the motorcycle was impounded.
