Two University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire students, Cadence Cordova from Boise, Idaho, and Jadyn Hartwig from Hudson, have been awarded 2026 Goldwater Scholarships. They are among only five students in the Universities of Wisconsin system to receive this national honor, which provides $7,500 for the 2026–27 academic year. The Goldwater Scholarship recognizes college sophomores and juniors who show exceptional promise in research in the natural sciences, engineering, and mathematics. UW–Eau Claire has now produced six Goldwater Scholars in the past three years, highlighting the university’s strong focus on faculty-mentored undergraduate research.
