BOISE — Just years after its original construction in 2019, Saint Alphonsus Regional Rehabilitation Hospital celebrated a notable expansion with a Thursday morning ribbon cutting.
The hospital has increased its capacity, adding 20 new beds to an existing 40, to better serve a growing need. The rehab hospital is adjacent to the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center on Curtis Road and supports patients who aren’t ready to be sent home.
At Thursday’s windy ribbon cutting, former patient Robert Ray recounted his journey at the hospital, where he spent more than three weeks relearning to walk and talk. By the time he was ready to go, Ray said he was able to run out the door thanks to his therapist…
