Logging near Bogus Basin to resume; temporary weekday closures announced

BOISE, Idaho — Logging and forest management will resume next week near Bogus Basin as crews return for the second year of the Deer Point Forest Stewardship Project. The operation, located roughly a mile south of the recreation area, is designed to make overgrown sections of forest thinner and treat trees affected by insects and disease, reducing the threat of severe wildfires.

To protect the public during active work, several temporary road and trail restrictions will begin Monday, April 13, and continue through June 19.

Bogus Basin will close to all vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians between mile marker 12 and the work zone during weekday hours of 8- 11 a.m. and 1-3p.m. The roadway will remain fully open on weekends and on Memorial Day, according to Boise National Forest…
