NAMPA Idaho (CBS2) — Just over a month after Nampa Mayor Rick Hogaboam died from a rare heart condition, the Nampa City Council is working to appoint an interim mayor — but members remain divided on how to choose the city’s next leader.
Council members have set a June 15 deadline to appoint an interim mayor, but the council has not agreed on a process for the appointment.
Councilmember Dale Reynolds said, “This will potentially be the most powerful mayor ever, because we can’t fire them and they can’t be recalled, and there’s no way to get rid of them, so this is a very, very hard decision. We have to have someone who can move the city forward and not damage the city.”…
