ITD announces weekend Nampa-Meridian I-84 closures for new interchange

Buckle up, Boise-area drivers. More road closures are coming to Interstate 84 as work continues on the new Idaho 16 interchange.

On Sunday, April 26, and Monday, April 27, the Interstate is set to have full nightly closures between Ten Mile Road and Garrity Boulevard, according to a recent construction update from the Idaho Transportation Department. Eastbound lanes will close overnight Sunday while westbound lanes will close Monday.

If that sounds familiar, it should. Since January, closures have become routine on the stretch of I-84 crossing from Meridian into Nampa as the department works to build new “flyover” ramps on the interchange. Commuters would be hard-pressed to miss the large structures already taking shape west of McDermott Road, which will one day carry traffic from highway to highway without stopping…
