MassDOT suspends 8 employees, 4 supervisors amid OT fraud investigation

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation says it has suspended eight employees and four supervisors as part of an ongoing investigation into possible overtime fraud at its Charlestown maintenance facility.

“MassDOT continues to take these allegations seriously,” the agency said in an email Thursday.

MassDOT said Undersecretary Jonathan Gulliver ordered a broad management review of overtime practices across the Highway Division immediately after seeing media reports that maintenance workers at their Charlestown maintenance facility had engaged in questionable overtime billing.
