FBI agents detail restaurant surveillance as judge weighs DNA evidence in Boston rape case

BOSTON — On an April night in 2023, Matthew Nilo walked his dog, took an Uber from his New Jersey condo to a restaurant and bar in Manhattan, and spent hours at a corporate event.

Four FBI special agents followed him there.

The agents watched Nilo from a table of their own a few feet away, enlisting a waitress at the Oscar Wilde Restaurant and Bar to hand over glasses Nilo drank from throughout the evening. When Nilo and the group he was with left after spending about four hours at the restaurant, the agents seized a water glass, a fork and a napkin off the table…
