BOSTON — On an April night in 2023, Matthew Nilo walked his dog, took an Uber from his New Jersey condo to a restaurant and bar in Manhattan, and spent hours at a corporate event.
Four FBI special agents followed him there.
The agents watched Nilo from a table of their own a few feet away, enlisting a waitress at the Oscar Wilde Restaurant and Bar to hand over glasses Nilo drank from throughout the evening.
