DEDHAM — The Massachusetts State Police will begin disclosing records about the hiring and training of former trooper Michael Proctor to defense attorneys in three criminal cases he played a part in, as the scope of the scandal surrounding his bigoted text messages grows.
Lawyers representing Shawn Johnson, Jovani Delossantos and Bianca Chionchio — who are all charged in connection with the killing of Ivanildo Cabral, 29, of Worcester, at a Randolph country club in 2022 — will get access to the records. Johnson and Delossantos are charged with murder, while Chionchio is charged with being an accessory to the killing.
In April, defense attorney Rosemary Scapicchio, who represents Johnson, filed a motion seeking records about State Police hiring and vetting policies, communications about Proctor’s application, any discipline he faced and training he underwent…
