Two Unrelated Drownings Claim Lives at Massachusetts Ponds on Sunday

Two separate and unrelated drowning incidents occurred in Massachusetts ponds on Sunday, July 12, 2026, resulting in the deaths of a man and a 17-year-old Fall River resident.

In the first incident, emergency crews responded around 4 p.m. to reports of a swimmer in distress at a pond on Pond Street in Randolph. Randolph police and fire personnel arrived at the scene, where firefighters located the man in the water. He was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey’s office confirmed the death is being investigated as an apparent drowning. Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Norfolk DA’s office and Randolph police are conducting the investigation…
