As crowds packed the shoreline near Eliot Circle for the final day of the sand-sculpting festival, first responders used aerial video to home in on two people struggling in the water.
Firefighters, state troopers and local police launched an inflatable rescue craft, pulled the swimmers to shore and handed them off to EMS. Medics evaluated both people and released them at the scene, with no hospital trip needed.
