BEVERLY — One month after opening Max’s Backyard Beef, owner Max Scivetti said the restaurant is beginning to build the kind of community atmosphere that first inspired him to get into the roast beef business.
Scivetti, 24, of Marblehead, opened Max’s Backyard Beef at 437 Rantoul St. on July 3. The restaurant marked its one-month anniversary on Aug. 3.
A graduate of Coastal Carolina University, Scivetti also works as a long-term substitute teacher at Thurgood Marshall Middle School in Lynn. He said both teaching and running the restaurant have reinforced the importance of creating a welcoming environment…
