These four Massachusetts cities rank among nation’s hottest real estate markets

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Houses for sale in Massachusetts are in high demand this year, according to a report by Realtor.com.

The 2026 Hottest Zip Codes list four cities in Massachusetts in the top 50 that show a higher-than-average buyer demand: Peabody, Westfield, Belchertown, and Uxbridge. The zip codes ranked are based on Realtor.com’s algorithm, which includes unique viewers per property and the number of days a listing remains active on its website.

The City of Peabody, zip code 01960, also ranks as the number one hottest zip code in the United States. According to Realtor.com, Peabody properties listed on its website had more than 4 viewers each and sold on average within 20 days. Situated on the outskirts of Boston, buyers are drawn to Peabody by its small town character and proximity to major job centers. The median listing price is $600,000.

On Realtor.com, there are currently 72 homes for sale in Peabody. The lowest is listed at $370,000 for an 836 square-foot home with one bedroom. The most expensive listing is just over $1 million, a 2,696 square-foot home with four bedrooms…
