The CFO of a Malden spinal implant company has been sentenced to four months in prison for bribing surgeons to use the company’s products, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Aditya Humad, 41, of Cambridge was sentenced last week to prison followed by a year of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay a $9,500 fine.
Authorities say the company, SpineFrontier, paid more than $540,000 in bribes to surgeons in the form of consulting fees for work they did not perform. Humad and CEO Kingsley Chin entered into contracts with surgeons, agreeing to pay them $250 to $1,000 per hour, purportedly in return for technical feedback on the company’s products…
