Newton police are asking the public for help identifying two men connected to a string of overnight car break-ins that hit the Auburndale and Newton Centre neighborhoods this week. The first reports came in from the Auburndale area around 11 p.m. Thursday, with additional incidents stretching into the early morning hours and as far as Pleasant Street in Newton Centre.
According to the Newton MA Police Department, the car breaks in the Auburndale area began around 11 p.m. Thursday, with a separate break-in documented on Pleasant Street in Newton Centre at 11:37 p.m. that same night. Police also received a report of a vehicle entry on Bencliff Circle around 4 a.m., where a witness described a man matching a similar description getting into a car.
Investigators released detailed descriptions of both suspects in hopes someone recognizes them. The first suspect is described as a younger white male with lower facial hair, seen wearing a red tank top, black pants with a white stripe down the side, and a backwards black Yankees baseball hat.
