BOSTON (WWLP) – A Sudbury man has been sentenced to prison for an over $7 million embezzlement scheme stealing money from two former employers.
Charging documents stated that in or around 2014, 40-year-old Adam Gentile was hired as an administrative assistant at a medical practice near Boston and was shortly promoted to office manager. In this role, Gentile processed payroll and oversaw record-keeping and administrative responsibilities.

From around 2015 through November 2020, it was determined that Gentile embezzled over $4.5 million from his employer by issuing extra paychecks to himself. He sometimes labeled these payments as “bonuses” and also paid off personal credit cards with the company’s bank account.
Gentile was hired as an office manager at a second medical practice in 2021, where he also had sole responsibility for processing payroll. From April 2021 through May 2024, he was found to have issued extra payments to himself as “bonuses.”…
