BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — John P. Holland Elementary School is celebrating a new school year, and the end of its receivership.
After 12 years of state control, the elementary school — formerly known as the UP Academy Holland School — in Dorchester is no longer under the management of UP Education Network, a non-profit school success organization.
“We’re so excited about the growth that we saw with our school last year,” John P. Holland Elementary School Principal Amelia Massoud-Tastor said, ”and also the growth that we’ve had over the last few years, which has allowed us to exit state receivership and to join Boston Public Schools fully this year.”…
