John Odgren seeks parole in 2007 Lincoln-Sudbury murder | Exclusive

Nearly 20 years ago — on Jan. 19, 2007 —John Odgren killed fellow Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School student James Alenson in a bathroom at the school.

Odgren, of Princeton, was convicted in 2010 of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

However, in 2013 the state Supreme Judicial Court ruled that those under 18 could not be sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole. And in 2024, in what is now known as the Mattis decision, the SJC amended by ruling that no one under the age of 21 could be sentenced to a mandatory life sentence,…
