BOSTON (WWLP) – Two Massachusetts men were sentenced for conspiring to damage a Harvard Medical School building with a commercial firework.
Charging documents indicate that in November 2025, at around 2:23 a.m., two suspects were captured on surveillance cameras walking towards the Harvard Medical School campus. The suspects, wearing face coverings and dark clothing, were captured allegedly lighting Roman candle fireworks.

The suspects then allegedly climbed over a chain-link fence into a construction area surrounding the Goldenson Building before scaling scaffolding beside the building to access the roof. Campus police received a fire alarm alert at around 2:45 a.m. from an explosion on the fourth floor of the Goldenson Building, which houses a research laboratory within HMS’s Department of Neurobiology.
It was determined that the suspects detonated a large commercial firework inside a wooden locker in the fourth-floor research laboratory.
