BOSTON – In a harrowing turn of events, Mohammed Chowdhury, a 47-year-old Boston resident, has pleaded guilty to the grave charges of arranging a murder-for-hire plot. Chowdhury admitted to two counts of using interstate commerce facilities in the commission of murder-for-hire. This admission came before U.S. District Court Judge Leo T. Sorokin, who has now scheduled the sentencing for April 23, 2024. Since his arrest in January 2023, followed by a federal grand jury indictment the next month, Chowdhury has been in federal custody.

The case, which has shocked the community, revealed Chowdhury’s utter disregard for human life and the sanctity of legal protections against domestic violence. Acting United States Attorney Joshua S. Levy emphasized the alarming nature of Chowdhury’s actions, underscoring the severe implications of domestic violence.

Text exchanges between Chowdhury and an undercover agent, posing as a hitman, exposed the chilling details of the plot. Chowdhury expressed his desire to eliminate not only his estranged wife, due to a personal grudge, but also her new partner.
