James Feeley, 56, admitted to raping a child while holding a gun on himself in front of his parent’s gravesite on Christmas night last year, according to court documents
Authorities are investigating the death of a 2-year-old girl after she was found dead in the home of a Massachusetts police lieutenant who had been charged with child rape last year, according to a report.
In December, James Feeley, 56, was charged with aggravated child rape and two counts of indecent assault and battery of a child younger than 14, as The Messenger previously reported. At the time, Feeley, in a cemetery on Christmas night, admitted he had raped and assaulted a child, authorities said, according to court documents obtained and reviewed by local news outlets.
Winthrop Police Chief Terrance Delehanty found Feeley at the gravesite with a gun in his hand. Feeley was reportedly suicidal at the time.
He was placed on administrative leave “pending the outcome of a criminal investigation,” Delehanty said.
