Boston’s Police Department is stepping out of the precinct and into the community to bolster its ranks. Officers assigned to Jamaica Plain’s E-13 Community Service Team are making their presence felt in Jackson Square T station, where the hustle of commuters is now punctuated by the opportunity to don the blue. The department is three days shy from closing applications for the Civil Service Exam and has pitched its tent outside the T station in a final push for recruits.
