BOSTON (WWLP) – A Malden man was sentenced to a decade in prison for distributing methamphetamine to an undercover law enforcement officer.

According to the Department of Justice, 33-year-old David Desousa was sentenced to 10 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.
Desousa pleaded guilty to one count of distributing 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, one count of distributing five grams or more of methamphetamine, one count of distributing a mixture or substance containing methamphetamine, and three counts of possessing 50 grams or more of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute back in September 2022.
An investigation began in February 2020 into Desousa’s distribution activities, and it was discovered that on three different occasions in February, March, and July of 2020, he met up with and sold methamphetamine to an undercover agent.
He was arrested in August in Medford while he was going to deliver two ounces of methamphetamine to the undercover agent.
