Brooklyn Man Convicted in Cocaine Trafficking Operation from New York to Boston

Boston, MA – Today, a federal jury in Boston delivered a conviction against Dinelson Hernandez-Rodriguez, 30, from Brooklyn, NY, for his significant involvement in a drug trafficking organization (DTO) responsible for the distribution of over 50 kilograms of cocaine from New York to Boston. U.S. District Court Judge Patti B. Saris has set the sentencing for May 21, 2024. Hernandez-Rodriguez, also known as “Gordo,” was indicted in October 2021 alongside nine other individuals.

The investigation into the DTO began in October 2019, focusing on cocaine and fentanyl distribution within Boston and Taunton areas. The investigation revealed that the DTO received cocaine supplies from New York, among other sources. Notably, in August 2020, Hernandez-Rodriguez was intercepted driving to Hyde Park with a significant amount of cocaine concealed within a sophisticated trap compartment of his vehicle. This operation was a part of a larger scheme in which he and a co-conspirator were found to have transported over 50 kilograms of cocaine intended for the Boston market.
