Local Resident Arrested for Attempted Break-in in Downtown District A-1

On February 17, 2024, around 7:00 AM, District A-1 (Downtown) officers arrested a suspect. The suspect, 24-year-old Calvin Feeney from Douglas, was charged with attempted breaking and entering. The arrest occurred after a radio call reported a suspicious person climbing a fire escape ladder near Cooper Street and Lynn Street.

Boston Police Operations gave the officers a detailed suspect description. The suspect was wearing all black, including a black ski mask. Officers found the suspect on a fire escape on Thatcher Street. They ordered the suspect to come down the ladder.

The suspect tried to escape by climbing back up the ladder and running away. The officers learned that the fire escape led to a different street. They saw the suspect jump down and a foot chase ensued, ending with the suspect’s arrest.

Feeney was charged with attempted breaking and entering during the day. He also faces charges of disturbing the peace and resisting arrest. Feeney will face these charges in Boston Municipal Court.
