Crash between car and scooter leaves 1 critically injured in Boston

ROXBURY – One person was critically injured in a crash between a car and a scooter in Boston on Saturday afternoon and neighbors said they’re not surprised it happened in what they call a dangerous intersection.

Car towed from scene

It happened at around 3 p.m. at the intersection of Washington and Northampton streets in Roxbury, down the street from Northeastern University. A car with its airbags deployed was towed away from the scene and a scooter and helmet were seen lying in the street, along with broken glass.

The victim, a 64-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, it’s unknown if they were in the car or on the scooter.

Neighbors call intersection dangerous

Neighbors in the area said the intersection is dangerous and they’re asking the city to do more to keep people safe. Northeastern sophomore Clara Hawkes lives blocks away from the crash site and said just days ago, she was hit by a car.
