‘Nothing’s been done’: Mass. State Police recruit’s family rally for answers 3 months after death

Dozens lined Lincoln Street Saturday afternoon with signs demanding justice for Enrique Delgado-Garcia three months after his death.

The Massachusetts State Police recruit died after a training exercise at the state police academy in September.

“It’s been very quiet, and we’d like some answers,” said one supporter.

Another added, “Be transparent about what happened to him.”

Delgado-Garcia was just weeks away from graduating when he suffered a medical crisis during a boxing exercise.

Boston 25 sources close to the investigation say he suffered broken bones, damaged teeth, and a spinal injury.

Enrique’s family told Boston 25 Saturday they’re still waiting for more answers.

“She wants justice for her nephew,” said Beatrice, a supporter translating for Felicia Garcia, the aunt of Delgado-Garcia. “Yesterday was three months since his passing and nothing’s been done.”

She continued, “Not only did they lose Enrique, but they’ve also lost themselves they also died that day.”

The 25-year old recruit also served as a victim’s advocate with the Worcester County District Attorney’s office.
