According to the 2024 Annual Homelessness Assessment Report to Congress, homelessness in Massachusetts rose by 54% and now has a larger homeless population than Texas, even though Texas has more than four times the population. HUD reports 29,360 homeless in Massachusetts and 27,987 in Texas. Families with children homelessness in Massachusetts increased by a staggering 74%, mostly due to Massachusetts inciting migrant families with $250,000 a year in benefits.
