Flights delayed, cancelled at Logan Airport due to weather

Passengers should check on the status of their flight before arriving at Logan Airport, according to Massport.

A mid-Atlantic snow storm is impacting travelers at Logan Airport and across the U.S., with thousands of flights delayed and cancelled on Monday.

Winter Storm Blair is affecting millions of people, according to The Weather Channel, and has caused several deaths, shut down interstates, and resulted in more than 350,000 power outages. Multiple states have declared emergencies and the snowfall has reached at least 18 inches in some places.

By 2 p.m. on Monday, there were 4,759 flight delays and 1,902 cancellations in the U.S., according to flight tracking service FlightAware. At Logan Airport, there were 160 delays and 76 cancellations.

In a weather advisory posted on the Massport website, officials wrote, “Due to weather, delays are expected. Passengers are advised to check with their airline on the status of their flight before coming to the airport.”

New England is facing a mostly dry but very cold week.
