On a late afternoon patrol, Boston’s Youth Violence Strike Force made a significant arrest involving illegal firearm possession following a dramatic foot chase. The arrest, which took place around 5:54 p.m. yesterday, led officers to apprehend 25-year-old Marquis Nicholas-Taylor of Hyde Park, hurling new light on the challenges faced by the city’s law enforcement in tackling gun-related crimes.
According to official reports, the incident began when officers spotted Nicholas-Taylor, whom they recognized, walking on Walnut Avenue towards Rockland Street. An approach by the officers prompted Nicholas-Taylor to flee, initiating a chase. In the course of his flight, the suspect was observed clutching his waistband—a classic sign suggestive of armed individuals.
