While a lawn and fountain area is still under construction and set to open in June, some are already disappointed in Copley Square’s new look.

Most of Copley Square Park opened in time for the Boston Marathon last month, but not everyone is pleased with the results.

The $16.9 million project, which broke ground in July 2023, was supposed to be completed by the end of 2024. Instead, the main plaza of the park, a “raised grove,” and the northeastern triangle of the park with seating opened this year.

While a lawn and fountain area is still under construction and set to open in June, some are already disappointed in the new look. The lawn and the fountain will be open in June.
