A Lynn man accused of shooting and killing another Lynn man last month was held without bail during his arraignment on a murder charge and four gun charges in Essex Superior Court Wednesday, the Essex County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Prosecutors allege that 36-year-old Brian Rivera fatally shot 35-year-old Eric Hines near 33 High St. in Lynn shortly before 11:30 p.m. on April 10. Authorities arrested Rivera within a day of the shooting, and he has twice now pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Prosecutors have released little information about what led up to Hines’ death, but on Tuesday, Rivera’s lawyer, Murat Erkan, told MassLive that video of the shooting shows that it occurred after two men ran into each other on the streets of Lynn.
