Boston Police Nab Springfield Man with Over 100 Bags of Crack Cocaine in South End

In Boston’s ongoing battle against drug trafficking, a recent arrest highlights the continued efforts of law enforcement to disrupt the cycle of narcotics distribution. The Boston Police District D-4 Drug Control Unit, operating in the South End/Back Bay area, apprehended 29-year-old Jonathon Turner of Springfield, Massachusetts on multiple drug-related offenses, as detailed in a report provided by the Boston Police Department.

Yesterday morning, officers aiming to actively interrupt drug transactions witnessed Turner seemingly engage in a street deal. They interrupted to investigate what appeared to be the buying and selling of illicit substances. A search of the suspected buyer turned up a quantity of crack cocaine, which culminated in the buyer receiving a summons to face possession charges. It was after this encounter that police swiftly moved to detain Turner at a nearby bus shelter on the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Albany Street.

Turner’s apprehension was notable due to the significant haul of narcotics found in his possession. Officers discovered 101 bags of what appeared to be crack cocaine in the front pocket of his sweatshirt, totaling about 122 grams.
