But Dave Portnoy broke it in his latest “One Bite Pizza Review” after fearing that a Boston pizzeria didn’t get a fair chance because of a line cutter and excessive “box time.” It was such a break from form that the Barstool Sports’ El Presidente began to question if he’d gotten “too soft” and sparked an existential crashout on the sidewalk.
This all began when Portnoy reviewed Boston’s Pizzeria Rustico, located near the TD Garden. That prime location had him excited for a solid slice. But the restaurant’s cramped kitchen and a man cutting in line complicated things.
Portnoy said his pizza was left in the box on top of the oven for 10 minutes, giving the slice a “floppy” texture. He wasn’t impressed and gave the Canal Street restaurant a score of 6.7 out of 10, a good but not impressive score…
